Charlotte DU CANN

The Dark Mountain Project
Editor
UK
I am a writer and editor, living on the Suffolk coast (UK). I've been writing most of my life: first as a journalist in the 80s, then as a travel/nature writer on the road in the 90s, and lately as a community activist.

Since 2009 I have set up and edited several collective blogs. reporting on Transition and other progressive movements, as well as editing the national grassroots newspaper Transition Free Press and a book about collaborative arts practice, 'Playing for Time - Making Art as if the World Mattered' with author Lucy Neal.

At present I work for The Dark Mountain Project as an editor/art editor and book distributor and am the co-founder of 'The Grassroots Directory', a new sourcebook for 200+ grassroots projects. which will be published in 2016.

I write and lead workshops on the art of collaborative writing, mythology, grassroots communication and cultural change.

I'm happy to talk about any aspect of grassroots media, social reporting, blogging, book production, features journalism, the art of working as a creative or editorial team, radical lifestyle change, having a social practice and fostering a collective or community self.
