I'm a climate scientist - originally working in the field of satellite observation of the Earth as an instrumentalist and experimental physicist. I ran the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme, the British Antarctic Survey, and the Science Museum in London. I am now Prof of climate science at University College London and am working on the communication of climate science and the science-policy interface. In 2014 I and the award winning playwright Duncan Macmillan were commissioned by the Royal Court theatre in London and Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg to write the play "2071 - The World We'll Leave Our Grandchildren" which I performed to critical acclaim at the both theatres and more recently in Brussels, Directed by Katie Mitchell. The book is published by John Murray.
