The Natural History Museum is a new, mobile museum that makes a point to highlight the socio-political forces that shape nature, yet are excluded from traditional natural history museums. These forces include those that shape the atmospheric climate on Earth, as well as the fossil fuel companies that sponsor science and natural history museums. The Natural History Museum is both a campaign and a museum. It calls on museums to cut ties to fossil fuels, and aims to model the museum of the future: one that champions bold action on climate change.

The museum was started by Not An Alternative--a NY-based collective that works at the intersection of art, activism, and theory.
