"CLIMATE: The Negotiation Theatre" is a documentary by David Bornstein which shows his creation “Make it Work”, produced by Sciences Po (SPEAP) and Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers in May 2015. Come and join some member of the film crew.

Synopsis:
For the last 20 years, all United Nations conferences (COP) on climate have failed. A few months before the 21st conference of this type, which will be held in Paris in december 2015, two hundred students from five continents met in the Nanterre-Amandiers Theatre to re-think this negotiation and to re-invent its rules during a full-scale simulation.

To devise their experience, the students were coached by Laurence Tubiana, special representative of France for COP21, by the philosopher Bruno Latour, and by the stage director Philippe Quesne. How to make the COP more efficient? How to limit the global warming to 2 degrees? Maybe we need to change our political representations? On the stage of Amandiers, it was not longer the States only, but the Cities, the Oceans, the Atmosphere or the Indigenous Populations that are negotiating, modifying geopolitical equilibrium, and the possible visions of the future.

They gave themselves three days to negotiate, and their rally cry is “Make it work!”. Will they come to an agreement?

The Negotiation Theatre is telling the story of an unusual experiment mixing science, philosophy, arts and politics. To this steaming manifesto of global citizenship and cry of today's youth, world leaders are in the obligation to listen.
